Last updated: 6 March 2024
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to your use of Meta for Work services (collectively, "Meta for Work"), your access to which has been authorised by your employer or other organisation ("Organisation"). This Acceptable Use Policy also applies to your use of your managed Meta account ("Managed Meta Account"), a type of Meta account issued and managed by your Organisation. Additional product-specific terms, policies or standards may apply and include, without limitation, the following: Meta Terms of Service, Supplemental Meta Platform Technologies Terms of Service, Meta Privacy Policy, Supplemental Meta Platform Technologies Privacy Policy and the Code of Conduct for Virtual Experiences (together with this Acceptable Use Policy, "Our Terms"). When using any Meta service with your Managed Meta Account, including, without limitation, Meta for Work, you must abide by Our Terms.
Please note that Meta for Work is intended for use by organisations and their designated employees, contractors and other individuals who have been authorised access by the organisation. This means that your Organisation is responsible for managing your use of Meta for Work and your use of your Managed Meta Account, as well as your adherence to Our Terms.
Prohibited Uses
This Acceptable Use Policy sets forth some of the prohibited uses of Meta for Work and Managed Meta Accounts; additional restrictions listed in the remainder of Our Terms may also apply.
You may not engage in behaviour or take action in connection with Meta for Work or your Managed Meta Account which breaches laws or regulations, or which otherwise infringes the rights of Meta or any third party.
Managed Meta Accounts may not be used by anyone under the age of sixteen (16) years, and many of our Meta for Work services require that users be a minimum age of eighteen (18) years; provided, that, solely with respect to the use of Quest for Business services in shared mode, you may allow natural persons to use those shared mode services who are at least thirteen (13) years old (or older, depending upon the applicable legal requirements where they reside).
When using or otherwise accessing Meta for Work or your Managed Meta Account, you may not hide your identity, impersonate anyone else, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation. You may not share, transfer or otherwise provide access to a Managed Meta Account designated for you to another person. You may not use anyone else's Managed Meta Account at any time.
You may not submit or upload to Meta for Work or to your Managed Meta Account any information or data that is subject to safeguarding and/or limitations on distribution pursuant to applicable laws and/or regulations. Such information may be, but is not limited to, sensitive financial information or information about your or another person's health or healthcare services.
Rights and Responsibilities
Although your Organisation manages your use of Meta for Work and your Managed Meta Account, Meta reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to determine whether you are in violation of Our Terms. In order to protect the safety, integrity and security of our platform and services, Meta also reserves the right to detect and investigate any unlawful, suspicious, improper or unauthorised activity across our platform and in any of our individual services.
Where Meta determines that a Managed Meta Account or an Organisation has breached Our Terms, we may take enforcement action against the Managed Meta Account and/or Organisation. This includes restricting account functionality, limiting access to data, or temporarily suspending or permanently disabling a Managed Meta Account, profile or Organisation. Meta may, at its sole discretion, share information about your breach of Our Terms with your Organisation. We may also notify relevant organisations or law enforcement of Managed Meta Account or Organisation activity where appropriate. Meta is not responsible or liable for any actions, omissions or decisions made by your Organisation, other relevant organisations or individuals, or law enforcement or government authorities in response to information shared by Meta regarding your breach of Our Terms.
We may additionally, but without obligation, remove or limit access to any of your data or content where we believe it violates Our Terms, your Organisation's terms with Meta, or any applicable laws or regulations. Meta may, at its sole discretion, provide you or your Organisation with reasonable notice of such action, unless prohibited by law.
We may continue to update this Acceptable Use Policy as we further innovate Meta for Work and our platforms and services.
